An ongoing project.
Saudade, a word often called untranslatable, is tangible in Lisbon. The city carries memory and loss while being reshaped by tourism, modernization, and gentrification. Traditions fade, communities are displaced. In this project, photographs are reworked with threads and stickers, turning them into scars and stitches that echo Lisbon’s identity. I explore the question of belonging and embodying saudade, the beauty of a city stuck in between permanence and disappearance.
